Diversity at the Forest Service

We believe that diverse perspectives help us solve problems more effectively. That's why we maintain an environment in which people from different backgrounds feel comfortable, and in which people feel free to express their opinions and share their viewpoints.

A Career with the EPA Office of Inspector General

EPA was recently ranked the sixth best place to work in the Federal Government in a 2009 survey.  Within EPA, the Office of Inspector General is a small, independent organization with an important mission: to help EPA in its efforts to make America a cleaner and healthier place.  We look at important, high-profile issues that are of great significance to the American public and often generate the interest of Congress and news media.  For example, recent projects looked at such issues as:

1)  Is EPA spending Recovery Act stimulus funding properly?

2)  Does EPA have a comprehensive plan to clean up the Great Lakes?

3)  Is the ENERGY STAR program achieving its intended results?

4)  Are there ways in which EPA can more efficiently spend its Superfund dollars?

5)  Does EPA have a sufficient nationwide plan for radon testing?

There are a variety of job paths that can be followed as part of a career with the EPA OIG, which has offices in more than a dozen locations throughout the United States.
